“Our Spanish Editor-in-Chief, Javier, hails from Asturias and has collaborated with local experts to curate an irresistible adventure for you”
The 21st edition of WideOyster Magazine is in front of you. Our German Editor-in-Chief, Malte Clavin, wrote an incredible story about the equally stunning Swiss Valais. He (and I, too, but Malte had the honor of writing it) experienced canyoning, hiking, and glacier adventures around Saas Fee and the Aletsch Glacier.
Art director and top photographer Frits Meyst captured the images but also found time to explore volcanoes and lakes in Chile, take a deep dive in the turquoise waters of Belize, and search for bears, mountains, and waves in Spanish Asturias. Strangely, after all that work, he still doesn’t feel the need for a holiday.
I got to write a story about the trip our Spanish Editor-in-Chief Javier Gonzalez put together himself in Asturias: Bears and Waves. Javi, as we call him, is from Asturias and, together with the locals, has put together an adventure beyond words. Read on. I did not know Asturias, but I’m going back there with my children this summer. That’s how amazing I found it.
On the same level of amazing is the first “Itineraries We Love”; Glamping in the Brazilian rainforest. In this new section, we share trips we have taken ourselves that filled us with joy. To daydream about or book yourself if it appeals to you.
Enjoy this edition.
