Edition #8
Wild West Canada Special
“In every person there is an adventurer, one goes on an adventure in the city, the other in a motorhome, and some hike into the wilderness on foot. The Wild West of Canada has something for everyone”
Welcome to the Wild West
Travel friends!
Was it the unexpected encounter with a bear? Was it the fresh mountain air or the warmth of a crackling campfire? I don’t remember exactly, but my passion for Canada began when in the last millennium, I first experienced the wild nature of the Rocky Mountains. From Edmonton I drove via Banff National Park to Vancouver on the Pacific Ocean. It tasted like more, and over the years I made more than 20 travel stories about Canada.
I am therefore super proud that we can bring you our first WideOyster Canada Special. (and if it’s up to me there will be more!)
In this edition Marco Barneveld explores Edmonton’s ‘Urban Jungle’ together with photographer René Koster, and skis on Sunshine’s famous slopes in Banff National Park. I literally travel off the beaten track in a 4×4 camper in search of unknown gems on Vancouver Island. .
